Do not be afraid to follow through on your swing after you hit the ball. To avoid hitting the ball to hard, shorten your backswing.

By shortening your backswing, you gain more control of your club, as well as your shot. When you begin your downswing, you need to accelerate your club through impact.

The next chipping golf tip is crucial to your success. Select a target on the green, to aim at when chipping. The optimal shot, would be to hit the ball low, and let it roll to the pin. You may need to hit your ball over an object or obstacle,so a low shot will not be feasable.

If you have bad swing habits, you need to work at correcting them. You will need to spend some time hitting your chip shots using the proper swing mechanics.

Do not scoop the ball when hitting your chip shots,you need to hit down on the ball. Otherwise, you will not be able to control the shot.

You must practice your chip shots, as often as you go to the driving range. Mastering the chip shot will dramatically lower your scores.
